@passerby yep it's a bit overkill if you just want to host a portfolio site, although it does give you full creative control. I think premade sites like carbonmade/squarespace do the job well enough
Thanks man, im getting down the grindstone over here on my portfolio, I kust need an environment thats condusive to creativity so I can learn and work. Though apparently digital artwork is "screwing around"...
Well it's an okay prize. I think just anyone here could wipe the floor there since modDB is composed of just Source modders with little creativity in character design and just model unskinned conventional weaponry all day.
http://www.seventhsanctum.com/ Pretty much generates anything from regular characters to warriors, alien races, weapons, etc. Very useful when your having a creative block (or for a future competiton maybe :P). I think im going to use it for my next character.
So I'm getting close to the stage where the modeling is compete and before I go head first into uvmapping and creating texture maps I would greatly appreciate the input of the many creative talents on this website. Its a portfolio piece and I intend to showcase it using UDK.
The guy who did the UDK mass physics demo that was posted on the front page the other day did another one. He didn't do a crazy amount of props this time but was a bit more creative. [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_ZDNTIJAF4[/ame]
Hey guys! Not so long ago I started with 3D graphics and drawing. I create this sketchbook because I'm still learning and really want to improve my skills. This place can motivate me and help with creativity. Wish me good luck with this fascinating journey. :)
Snapshot Games is looking for an experienced and creative Texture Artist. This is a permanent job, based in our Sofia office or remote. For more details see our website https://jobs.gohire.io/snapshot-games-iwnh5ere/experienced-texture-artist-27511/
Very nice reel! The animation is solid, the ideas and concepts really stand out and overall it shows you're very creative. I doubt you'll have much trouble finding a gig, most likely at a game or commercial studio :P .
if its for normalmap baking would do that with a floating object. if its a highres object and its made of metal there could be a third object (weldseam) to hide this area. i would go with a creative solution and not trying todo magic if its not needed.
