So I need some advice on animation. I have a character with attachable parts like a backpack, gloves, helmet, etc. How do I go about animating this guy? Do I have to animate every combination of item or how should I do it? I want this to be simple and cant figure out the best way to quickly animate several animations and…
Been really inspired by the look of "vintage" shapes and materials lately. One item that really stood out to me was a studio film camera, the "RCA TK11". So I decided to create it and here is the current progress. Right now its mid-poly detail, not everything is fully fleshed out, but there is some detail. And a basic…
Hi all! I endeavor to work on a small scene set in a modern bathroom that has been the play area for a small group of children. The idea is that the toilet was used as a throne for their game, and the only thing that will point to this is the mess of toys and items that they left behind. I wish to tell the story of…
I think its a bit unhygienic to ask people to lick your portfolio  Jokes aside, I agree with the other comments about removing some items. The bladerunner scene could be improved upon with better lighting but the ship communicator and teapot are pretty weak pieces. The wear on the ship communicator doesnt make any…
Hey. Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. Paid work has been kicking my butt lately. Anyway I had a chance to knock out a few assets. If anyone wants to see one of these assets in more detail, I'll post a breakdown of it. The Items on the fireplace shelves are stand ins, not final art. There will be normal maps on…
I'm not sure we're on the same page regarding what you can and can't do in Dota 2. Assuming I've understood you correctly, all the fur needs to be modeled as part of the additional items. Also you can't change the base model - if you want to make "changes" to the base model you'll have to cover it up with your own geometry.
what would be the practical downside to duplicating the material? I'm guessing that to Unity it doesn't make any difference, it's an extra material one way or another- do you just mean from a work perspective it'd be annoying to have the dupes in the hierarchy? the thing with doing it in script, won't I have to deal with…
I too was hooked on Terraria for a bit, and welcomed the changes this game offers. I'm loving the overall improvements, especially the ability to resource larger sections and item placement with the matter manipulator. I'm sketch to spend too much time on it now as there is going to be another character wipe soon, though…
Well, what my professor told me was that I should take assignments from class and continue to work on them for a couple months after class ended so there would be more items in my reel. I would choose one or two animations you have that may show off other skills or that have very good potential and work on them.
Something I really like to do is take items from cartoons or animes, basically anything that isn't a real object and try to make it real. This time I got sucked into Sword Art Online and thought I'd try my hand at recreating a couple of the swords. This is also the first time I have worked with the PBR workflow. The…
