I don't work with normal maps too often but when I do have seams like this I try these two things: Flip the green channel of your normal map (there should be a checkbox somewhere.) And switch between world-space or tangent-space for your normal map. Hope it helps!
Love watching that tri count go down. woot woot. Still need to add two more small meshes tho =[ the stone loin cloth and the center chest gold piece. After those pieces are fitted in and the back pieces are AO tested it will be on towards fitting the UVS into a proper UV set.
It looks great! I agree with others that it's a little too dark, but I'm digging the atmosphere. You might consider rotating one or two wheels so that the texture has some more variation (the dark rust spot on the metal band sticks out and you can immediately tell that it's one texture)
Re Dynamesh : Even tho its slider has a limit ( 1024 and now 2048 ), one can actually go much higher than that. When a dense mesh is needed simply duplicate the tool, dynamesh it, divide it one or two times then projectAll to recover the tiny details stored in the copy. Easy!
Thanks guys, I'll see what I'll do, maybe I will add two different materials, one for the hair that is double sided and one for the body that is one sided. I can't lay out the entire model on one UV set anyway, the textures will come out too low res.
Another buy here, Mafia 2 deluxe with the two bigger dlcs! The bad thing i see with this xmas sales, is that there aren't too many games for PC. I ended buying 4 games, i bought all what i liked before (play.com and another crazy sales in steam).
Hello, I have a model of a bag of chips, it has been 3d scanned from top and bottom side. So I have two models, where I have removed floor, that was scanned also . I need to combine both models of bottom and top of chips bag into one single mesh. I could use symmetry modifier in 3ds max to make for example top mesh to be…
after dealing with some juicy zbrush rage. the absolutely absurd scaling bug in R3. it just drives home even harder the fact that. for all ' high end ' intents and purposes we only have two sculpting apps to work with. two. in the whole fucking world. two i could near write a book on where zb and mudbox suck balls but it's…
Gumroad has never given me issues as a seller, but Paypal did back when I sold stuff through ebay. Never linked them as a result, but I am curious exactly why the two companies split ways.
Okay, here's some tips. Also you had some weird geo (doubled verts) on your mesh that I cleaned up. Also I deleted 3 of the 4 fins, you can just mirror them back (Once you've finished the UV's—would make sense to have them overlapped / share the same texture to save space). You might also want to bookmark this for further…
