I'm very soon to call this completely done (famous last words). These are the 16 shots I'm planning on uploading to my portfolio. Please, if you have time, take a look and let me know if there's anything you think I should fix and/or change before that. Should I include another angle, remove an image, change the lighting,…
hey guys, thanks for the quick answer! I'm doing a simple subD modelling...I m gonna apply a "turbosmooth" modifier. I'm not gonna use it for sculpting or as a lowpoly model.... I was just worry to make a nice polyflow that looks clean its the spaceship from the film District 9 I'm kind of trying to establish a nice…
Hey, thanks BIGTIMEMASTER! I literally just googled wrong things liks: "IMMBrush shorter" etc. (>.<) Anyway thanks for the link! There where some good guides in there! What for me worked: 1. select brush "ZRemesherGuides" and draw a line or a circle (with shift) 2. draw 2 lines where the cut should be 3. while holding alt…
@BIGTIMEMASTER I've actually "jumped off the ship" once already, it all lead to 9 months of studying (and a little bit of eating) and this job I'm currently in, so I'm basicly still in the water clinging to a side of the boat. So good point, thank you. @Taylor Brown I had a bitter experience with freelance. Also there is a…
@Deadly Nightshade, I'm not trying to be harsh, I just want to give a little advice. It's not nice to label anyone "worse artists" or compare the art skill of two vastly different studios. Even in a passing comment as you did. There are probably people that worked on both Torchlight2 and Diablo3 reading your posts. Show a…

A nice meta tag like system when creating a thread would be interesting. There could be a list of tags and users can choose - 2 - tag's that best describe the piece. That way people can easily filter out stuff there not interesting in, ie character, environment, weapon, Just vauge-ish filters people can choose. The bonus…
@Portgas For the peach fuzz I am using the cloth work done for The Order 1886. Pages 5-9. http://blog.selfshadow.com/publications/s2013-shading-course/rad/s2013_pbs_rad_notes.pdf But for some reason when lit from behind I am getting no fuzz on the rim of objects. For the transmission I think I was initially trying to use:…
1. Get Endverts of 1 selected edge 2. Get all edges connected to the endverts 3. Get all endverts of this edges 4. determine which of these verts form a new edge as a pair 5. save the pair(you will most likely get 2 pairs, one in each direction) 6. do the same procedure again for the edges between the vert-pairs, except…
