Seems pretty solid modeling wise, The base is way too small though, If you compare the dial to the part you talk into you see that the base should be about 175% of it's current size. Chord looks too thin as well, easiest way to adjust that would just be to move vertices along normals. Good job so far! -

these are nice with a cintiq. You can move it around however you want, flat and low, tilted back overhead, whatever you want. . You can also adjust the vertical tension. You could make .|. become ||| if you select the top verts, use the scale tool, hold j and use one axis handle. (assuming that's what you mean, in this case lining up the top verts of three vertical loops) or in the move tool, tap an axis handle, hold v, then mmb click on another vert to constrain the movement. -

You can uncheck Envelopes under "Select" in the skin modifier. I assume you have a mix of enveloppe influence and per vertex weight. You can also "bake selected verts" so that enveloppes influence get baked into the vertices. So the weight is per vertex and an enveloppe itself has no longer influence at all : moving it… -

I dont really know what you mean by my process. I generally retopologize the model and do a few test bakes to see how the bakes look. If things aren't working I try to play around with the vertices to try and fix the errors. Can you explain a better method to this? Maybe a tutorial I can watch?
