mrrogers: He's saying that the problem was known for 50 years and two years ago they started figuring out that "hey, our levees couldn't withstand a lv.3 hurricane, perhaps we should upgrade?". Never mind the plans didn't include fortifications against anything above lv.3.
Second update! Started with replacing the block out. For the construction wood I created 3 different wooden beams. A large, medium and small one. Unwrapped all 3 straight beams in the same uv space and afterwards used the bend modifier on some parts. And just generally worked on this project.
I would second the Stalker series and Metro 2033 (+ Last Light), Dishonoured, Thief 4, TF2, Last of us, Witcher 3. All good choices. Can't think of any more not already mentioned except for maybe Doom 3 (purely for its place in game art history?)
Ufff so much work this month. I changed the dragon design again and I'm still working on it. And I know that people liked the other dragon design so i will try to combine both. :) Later, I'm going to work in Taliyah's clothes and accessories to finish the character. <3 <3
More like $85.7 billion It's weird that everyone talks about Microsoft ruining Rare, they kept making games, they made 3 new IPs for the launch of the 360, Viva Pinata won a Bafta. Kinect Sports sold 3 million units and got a BAFTA Family Game of the Year award.
Yeah I'm using Maya. Basically the entire scene is UV'ed out into 3 different maps... so I just resplit the model into the 3 pieces and made another UV set for each piece for the lightmap like I normally do. The shadows are picking up a lot better now.
Holy crap.....the bridge scene is feckin INCREDIBLE! The blue hooded dude is a badass :D Thought it would be Blur after seeing the level of quality in that cinematic. I especially shot 3:03-3:05 where he draws the bow was really well done, so realistic XO
Sorry for the spam - but since Prophet9 sent me his lowpoly for feedback, it was possible to import a test version of #3 quite early on (with simple per-face materials) which in turn will allows for early rigging tweaks and particle tests. Needless to say, I am quite excited about this :) <3
In no order: Starcraft 1, Warcraft 3, Diablo 2, American McGee's Alice, UT2004, Quake 3, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Timesplitters, and Turok. Man I love gaming. EDIT: HOW COULD I FORGET TO PUT PERSONA ON THIS LIST?
You can export to HLSL 3, HLSL 5, CGFX 3, GLSL 1.2 and GLSL 4. But it really depends on where you are taking the shader if the format it outputs to will be useful. E.g. if you want to load it into a game engine, the hand exported shader may need to be edited to work in that engine.
