Not sure how much time you have spent sculpting the stones, but you might want to look at the pattern since there are many grout lines lining up almost unobstructed would lead to noticeable tiling. Although might not be noticeable and not worth re-doing, but just something to think about.
That looks very nice already! That spongy floor looks awesome ! The violet Stones look a little off though. Id would be cool if the sponge maybe grows a little bit around it. Just something that connects those two elements. Overall it looks already fucking cool ! well done
The metal in the modular rail piece does not look like metal to me. It falls between wood and stone but in my opinion definately not metal. Also like the person above me said, some of the pieces use too many tris than they should, I would look into optimization more.
Really liking the mood you have going on right now, and that mud texture looks awesome. The stones feel like they're a bit small compared to the rest of the scene, but without anything to really base scale on, I could be wrong. But keep it up, I love the progress so far.
So i tried to fix the obvious tiling issues with my stone. Was harder then i thought. I am pretty happy with how it looks at the moment. Ignore the blurry, its not like that in maya, just when i take pictures. Working on fixing it. This is a fun process. Onwards to more textures!
Thanks for the crit. I'm going to procrastinate for a bit, but seeing as what you said makes sense, I'm going to rework the textures so that they have no relevance to the references and try to conjure up a theme instead. Thinking aqua at the moment. Going to rework the fountain texture into concrete/stone or go for bronze.
I see what you mean, yes I have tried at that too, actually had 4 art tests for 2D production but as is the norm in the industry, I never heard a peep after delivering. A lot of people want to get in to that as a stepping stone for concept art so it's just as hard, it seems.
Hello, I would like to make a composition for one thing I created, is it okay to use third party models and textures for my scene? Like trees, stones and grass. Should I mention that I only created the thing? I found good free foliage on the internet from Alter 49, should I mention them?
Early tiling textures for a Blizzard like title - wip Pretty much my first time getting to grips with zbrush at this point. Sand stones for path ways. Most happy with this one as it tiles very well, I want to start building on my zbrush skills and also texturing to better create these sorts of tiles to a better standard.…
Hey guys, I'm new to Polycount. I have been over at Game Artisans since I started game art. To say the least, I am hoping for Polycount to be my new forum. I am starting this thread as a practice thread for my hand painting textures. Diffuse only. The first one is a stone pathway texture. Inspired by WoW.
