Smooth and pinch brush are you friend. Also using masks helps. Try painting a mask over what you want to work on, inverting it, then inflating that a bit, smooth a little and pinch/smooth the edges. Some good zbrush tips here (though not much on hard surfaces) http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/education/zclassroom/class.php
I found it's more fun if it's get some girls and go get drunk at some onsen in the woods (wife is reading over my shoulder and hits me.)... watch out for turds and suzumebachi. I had the luck of getting one of those stuck in a ski mask I bought (coincidentally it was a mask with a skull on the front and back).
Oh boy, before I get into this: Please slow down, try to use punctuation, and think about the questions you're asking. What you've written here is difficult to understand; it's written in a stream of conciseness way with no thought given to how the reader will process it. To get a quality response, you need to start with a…
* world projected textures with subtle grunge can help break up repetition and can help "tie" props and environment together by blending hue and value (has to be very subtle) * haven't done it myself, but I believe you could use a second UV channel for things like an edge or cavity mask, and break this up with a grunge…
I keep running into this strange shading issue: I'm not sure why this occurs since I've imported the mesh with smooth edges from Maya. Also, whenever I zoom out i get a white outline around the texture, even though the masking texture directly overlaps my diffuse texture (its actually contracted by a couple pixels to…

(Mainly creating leaves)There is a ton of ways to do this and for the most part its up to whatever way the studio youre working at likes best. There is also some photoshop stuff in here so feel free to skip around if you dont need it.…
Hi there! this is my first post on this month's challenge @ZacD you're right about proportions, this kind of props can even feel cartoonish if you don't manage it carefully. About the material, if you follow the concept the body should be metallic, but actual grenades are coated with dielectric paint. I think it's done…
wasn't trying to argue that... (was on phone too) EDIT:: OK, I have read through your courier thread and see that it is an import bug issue.... I had just noticed that the pony courier does use two anims for flying at least (didn't see a change in running). Flapping wings and gliding. At first I thought the glide was a…
This was the full body image. Followed by a quick breakdown of some of the work I put into this piece. My process followed more of an illustrative approach because the contest window was only a couple of weeks. No where near enough time for me to make a rig-able mesh. For this reason, the character sculpt was rendered in…
Looks like a solid start. Here's most of the features people will typically be looking for in a new 3D painting app (note that no single app does all of this yet): Brush Engine: Check these out for ideas; Paint Storm Studio Verve Painter Lazy Nezumi Pro (specifically Distortion Scripting and L-Systems features). Brush…
