I'd been exporting using the Maya 2013.3 FBX, Export All ... Just tried optimizing the scene, Selecting only my mesh and bones and exporting selection, also tried FBX exporter 2009. Still the same results :/
Seems I understand a solving. I selected need areas and scaled it out with soft selection and then just used relax - polygons have become bigger. I will try to make more accurate UV and then I will share results.
Use the selection tool next to the normal selection tool on the new material editor, allows you to pick an object in the scene and 'suck' the material from it into the editor. Don't know what to call it off hand, the paint picker? pipette?
if you stick with the paint weights method you can do it too. Select your verts, enter paint weights, select the bone. Then flood with 1.0 on the little slider. It seemed faster to me than using the component editor.
I think if you select the border, and apply another sphereify it will round out the other edge. Might want to do it with soft select on so it's a bit more relaxed. Wait hold on, you mean they aren't equal distance?
It looks like you made one arm, then copied that for the second arm. Did you remember to invert your faces on the right arm? Select the arm and then select Face / Reverse Vertex Order from the menu along the top.

Hey guys, I'm quite stuck with how to do this in max. When I push the extrude button, it always extrudes along the local axis of the selected faces. Is there a way to extrude only along a selected axis? This is what I'm getting: This is what I would like: Thanks for the aid :)
Somehow my colour picker has been set to select colours to the background - rather than the foreground... Its driving me crazy and I don't know how to turn it back. Anyone had this problem before? I like to paint by selecting colours with the eye dropper but this has killed the fun :/
I'm having trouble with the painter, when selecting a brush the tool becomes extremely slow, it takes forever to just select a brush. I have a 980ti and a i7 6700K so i don't think the hardware is the issue. The problem is even worse when dragging the brush categories
