Photoshop colour picker problem :(

Somehow my colour picker has been set to select colours to the background - rather than the foreground... Its driving me crazy and I don't know how to turn it back.
Anyone had this problem before?

I like to paint by selecting colours with the eye dropper but this has killed the fun

Strange. Does this occur while using the Eyedropper tool on its own or while using the Brush tool & pressing Alt to pick a color? You could check the Color Tab (F6) and see if you have the BG color slot selected by accident, if not then you might have luck deleting your PS prefs in Documents and Settings\Application Data somewhere.

Peppi is right. Just click on the upper left swatch box on the color palette.

Thanks Peppi! It was when I used both the eye dropper and the brush/alt. I checked the colour Tab and you were right I had the background colour selected.
I was convinced that it was something to do with the tools bar so I hadn't considered looking there!
