Hey everybody. Loving everybody's hand painting that I took a chance to do one myself. No background in traditional painting or digital. I found a concept art done by Dan Scott on while browsing on Pinterest. Here is what I got so far. I wanted some critique on this. Not sure if I'm going about this right.
I bet it's something like Modo writes just digits in fbx file and Maya think its default fbx cm instead of inches and re-scale them. But I have no idea really. But I try to keep unites metric in every ap
I always was intrigued by MS and wanted to use it but I need to get good with a pencil and paper first before jumping on to a digital medium, but once I do, I am definitely going to give MS and sketchbook pro(for some reason) a go. :P
I was working at a computer shop and as it slowly went out of business in February 2012 I did 3d in the back all day then decided in February 2012 I got a digital tutors sub, as for getting into games I started working on a Halo mod in Cryengine.
Here is another fast bust sculpt made by myself. I'm usually make low poly stuff like on my portfolio, but I trying improve my skills also in digital sculpting and in other parts of 3d graphic. Hope you like it :D
Head scan clean up I was tasked with replicating a digital version of my partners head from a scan. Learnt a lot on this project and big thanks to Liam Grice for helping with the renders/crit. I'll link his Artstation bellow: https://www.artstation.com/liamgrice
The concept is great, though I will say I think you need to get her Leg camo in. I think that is one of Cammy's traits really. Could try playing around with the camo though, perhaps a more digital type. Sculpt is looking great.
One day we'll run out of words and have to start using a number system instead. "Hey Joe, did you play X4920 yet?" "No man, been playing B342 a ton lately." "Oh man, that's a classic! B, and only three digits!"
@Andreas: I'm glad you liked them :) @ambershee: Yeah paper is where it's at! Anything to iterate faster is a good thing. Make use of paper prototypes before coding something whenever possible. If it's not fun in paper form, it's not going to be any more fun in digital.
That's beautiful work, n.s. I'm trying to get into digital painting (background in physical fine arts here) but have no clue where to start - do you have any resources/places to send me so that I might start from a basic level?
