2,000 polys is a bit high for a fire hydrant I'd say. Maybe keep it under a thousand? Depends on the game I suppose. Texturing looks decent; I'd add in some oranges for rust. And maybe some green/brown near the base for dirt splatters.
sup so after a few failed projects, i'm making a fairly simple model so that i can experiment with some texturing. i'm so unfamiliar with photoshop that i could probably do better in paint at the moment, but we'll see... does anything look horribly wrong and mangled so far?
