My take on the surface (used a surface 2 for a bit) and other similar devices: Its a nice tablet. Thats it. Its not a laptop replacement, at least not a laptop you actually do work on. The keyboard is ok for a tablet but terrible for a laptop. The keyboard is not physically attached to the monitor so you can't put it on… -

Depends on the power setting. I would suggest whatever you choose get a Haswell i5. They consume less power and have better graphics than previous generation.
