I'm playing through Link's Awakening on the 3DS atm (originally on Gameboy), and the boss fights in that are pretty cool. Whilst the gameplay is very old school, each boss makes you utilize the item you've got in it's particular dungeon. I guess that's the same with all Zelda games though!
What OS? Have you done any updates lately? Windows 7 just released SP1, and while I don't have an issue like you've mentioned, it could have affected your computer differently. Is it just images? Do the menus and other items look clear?
None of those variations have any of Enchantress' colors. You should check out the textures from her default items and get some samples from there. I personally think that something like this, but with a bit more color variation of course, would fit a lot more with the hero.
I honestly don't think it's worth it. 4k tops, after that (unless you're staring at it super close up 100% of the time), it's a case of diminishing returns with certain items. Just prioritize and pack your UVs well, it's more practical. Edit: EQ beat me to the punch, lol.
whoa cool! read about that insect glaive... holy CRAP that sounds fun! I'm not sure how playable it'll be heh. The video there demos the features, seems kinda ok? Feel like selecting menu items will be a pain. May be rough on iPhone, but could be good on newer iPads?
looking pretty good so far will be watching this for sure. One thing that sticks out to me is the amount of items on that gun holster. It looks like their is a lot of weight on it and I cant see it attached to the pants or anything. I cant help but picturing it just falling down all the time.
As far as I know, there isn't a point to point edge selection outside of UVW Unwrap. That would be crazy useful. Time to pester Autodesk! http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=5600504&linkID=9241177 The more of these requests and reports they get the more likely they are to add it.
Currently working on adding some more features :) You'll be able to set the usual Mesh Settings (for example ray distance) for each item to batch. I'm also looking into a better way to deploy the application as a ClickOnce solution, that autoUpdate itself at launch if needed. (and that doesn't require Administrator rights)
Thanks for the advise guys, all crits help, don't worry i wont take it personally. Here is a new layout of the scene i just did. I scaled down some items such as the pillars to make room for the ceiling and walls a bit more. Is this more the direction it needs to go?
Excellent work man. Although it looks a bit taller than what my mind serves me. It's a great model. But that texture map looks like a heinous item to tackle. But as far as I'm seeing your poly usage is pretty awesome, can't wait to see the destroyed version.
