the legs look infinatly better than in the last pics! good work man.how do you model do you start with a cube or use extrusion or what? just curiouse. Jody
You can currently do the tessellation/extrusion trick with DX10 - it's just not very efficient. I guess 11 is making it more feasible? Kind of makes things look like claymation.
Back on the old boards ,someone posted an excellent pic of cube face extrusion to make great low poly hands. Because well, I suck at making hands again :X
Nice model so far. The barrel does indeed have a slight extrusion at the end though as seen in the ref. Good luck with he rest of the work, I'm sure it will be nice when completed.
Note: since you have a cylinder of only 1 segment (height) you'll need to cut a line in the model to get the extrusion of the HP nicely centered. After baking, remove the cut again.
Are your extrusions a straight 90 degree angle? Because from these angles it looks like that. And if that's the case..your normal map bake won't probably be able to do much with is and come out flat
