i had the same problem, make sure you have a lot of memory allocated to windows on your harddisks . this solved the problem for me.

It's still very much an issue, we've just got more tools to handle it - depth biasing would solve Eric's problem for example

Can you explain better for render with a head and a body? the video for blender user is a little fast... specially to solve seams in the neck :D
