Any specific reason for all the horizontal cuts on the wall parts? I also think you're using a bit too much polies on the ball, and too many bevels on the ring.
Tried baking one of the rings. Seems a bit pointless though? surely once it has texture and you look at it from further back distance nobody would ever notice?

Shapes and proportions look fine. You might consider bending that back wheel spoke a little to match the concept, and the ring around the exhaust barrel is thicker in the concept too. Can't wait to see more!
I'm going for rough where wear would occur. I want to give the impression of a cared for but old rifle, hence the deep grain, rings and scratches. I think you're right on the brightness of the diffuse.
