@Timothy: Nice zbrush work man. I assume none of the lighting is done and it is still a big WIP. Few crits that caught my eye: The cieling drapery is REALLY bringing the scene down and it looks like a hanging rug. If you are going to have an already roughed up scene in terms of materials (stone) then you want to have a…
Are you using Max or Maya? In Max i'd select what i'd want to unwrap like lets say the pipe. The go to UVWmap, do a cylindrical UV map on it then go to UVWunwrap and tweek the UVs if needed and put them in the space you need them. Or you could get slick and just do a Multi/Sub Object Map and then there is now real UV…
It sounds like might have made the mistake of sub dividing too many times without pushing the current layer to its fullest? Chances are you could have done the same sculpt with less? None the less, if you're stuck using Max, set your viewport to wireframe and expand that one viewport so it only has to update one view not…
I like how you sculpted the face! Throwing colors in will help to judge if it needs adjustment, but you did a fine job on the nose, something that tends to trip most artists when trying to make a 3D out of a stylized 2D work. How closely to the illustration do you intend to stick? The sculpt is shorter than the original,…
UPDATE I added a link to my 3Ds Max > Doom 3 Modding nodes and a link to a reddit discussion about the article. MightyPea Thanks for your reply! Oh, the effect video you posted is sick! Like it very much...why didn't we see something like this in some games...hm maybe becuause there aren't that much space games...but looks…
And I thought I was done haha. You're all absolutely right @TeriyakiStyle, @Brian "Panda" Choi , @Tits, @Felixenfeu . The last thing I want to do is have a half baked final presentation after putting in all the effort! Now I don't want to go too far off concept but I did adjust the environment and the face to make…
Sorry about not beeing more helpfull the last time you ask for crits, was trying to playing just-cause 2 and people kept pestering me about some code work that needed to be done on a project. Anyway I think the thing harry was trying to get at was your materials are hard to read and the ware and tear doesn't look…
I gave this a try in 3DS Max last night and with one small modification, it works great. I needed to add one more object into the chain so that the node that's doing all the squash and stretch can rotate around the center of the ball. Otherwise, it causes unintended rocking. So to recap: The Ball. Simple sphere. I put a…
Traditional is probably best done in person. David is an old classmate, he runs workshops in LA, he has tons of experience and he's talented. Might be worth checking out. https://www.davidsimonsculpture.com/workshops
I've never been at such a loss to choose what would be an "optimal build". The runestone modifiers are truly powerful and change the feel of every skill in the game, the skills themselves are incredibly well balanced against each other and no one path seems to "snowball" in power with other skills more than other abilities…
