@artbychien I apologize for the long delay. I'm actually not sure how to present these, so i updated them to my google drive and they are all viewable here. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5UodeXtNTHVaE13SVpzSGtyZnM&usp=sharing Any other tips are welcome
Figured out the issue with the textures. It wasn't the texture size, it was that mudbox appears to downrez stencils a fair bit, so you need to make them overly huge to get nice edges. :P Fixed the textures, added decals, and gave it some 'flashing' lights.
If you feel lazy, go to 30mins of the video where I start the zbrush phase. I just wanted to cover for people that dont know the basics. And btw, the cold turned into a viral infeciton, so I will delay the 2nd part a little bit more ;)
General Scarecrow ward is done. It has been a lot of challenge to work on this. I apologize to my team for delaying them and thank them for their patience! Thanks so much guys, I'll be implementing these changes soon. Katori, I did a quick test of the decal blending effect and it looks fantastic. Can't believe I didn't know about this. It makes the scene look so much better. Thank you!
I'd be interested in chatting with you sometime. More than a decade experience with shipped titles among the largest AAA franchises in the industry. You can view some examples of my work at www.flewda.com - you can contact me at my email josh.powers@gmail.com
Yes, but that hasn't been the goal for years. The goal is to delay the crack to boost first week sales and to avoid the pre-launch release of the game. Whether or not that is useful or not up to debate, but nobody is thinking "this DRM will be completely unbeatable from now until the sun burns out"
This is awesome. :) I've been meaning to model a squirtle for a long time. I always get caught up on the eyes of anime style creatures though. How'd you do yours? Are they a seperate decal or are have you painted them straight onto the texture sheet?
i cant even install it, thats the problem, now the thing is it always start to run that at startup wich delays my 3ds max :( how do i remove the "culprit" files manually ? my 3ds max path is at c:\3ds Max 2009 .
Thanks for the advice man! How's this: As for the text decals, I've been trying to shove them in, but since I am cramping the entire model into a single 2K texture, the quality of the text was rubbish. Any idea how to go about the logos? Perhaps a separate texture?
