I could really use some feedback on my composition. So far, I have only modeled out the gramophone, everything else is just a block out to get the composition right before I start modeling out everything else. I’m wondering if it feels too busy or looks awkward? I’ve been looking at this for so long I can’t tell anymore!
I think you just need to emulate the Gothic II lighting better, if you want to match the original look and feel. Looks like they used very simple shaders, with only diffuse and specular, and some baked low-res shadow maps. This was fairly common for games in the early 2000's.
good job feels very nice! i made so me progress on my asset, while doing just the bust my wife asked if i could add some cloth... so i might as well just do the whole thing... will need to figure out a way to get the triangular shapes into that cloth, that is one part i didn't lkke about the artdirection of the game, the…
You have a nice start on the female model. If you are shooting for the Burton style, as you said, I would suggest exaggerating her features even more. Right now she looks like a doll of a young teenager. Longer neck legs and arms for sure. With that, you could also bring in the waist, while excentuating the bust and butt…
[ QUOTE ] maybe with better communication in which the "other side" gets to know about fundamental issues of either side's problems, would help to gain a bit respect. as stated by Daz before, a lot of coding won't have any visual effect on the total thing, at best that you have 1-2 fps more than before... Another thing…
I figured this was somewhat relevant to us, as we make art for games. It's a European Citizens Initiative, currently at 652,366 signatures at a 65% requirement for the UK parliament to recognize it. If you are in favour of these terms & are a citizen of a country in the EU, the deadline for signatures is 31/07/25. From the…
If I'm understanding your post correctly, you are looking for information about how to start your own game development business. If that's correct then: Maybe start at the business section at TIGForums particularly the How to Start an Indie Game Business (WIP) thread. You should also give TIGRadio a listen. Quite a few…
Yeah I'm definitely looking into getting a motorcycle as well as a diesel pickup to run the potato chip oil. It's a snowball effect though. Most of our energy comes from oil. Prices for everything have increased dramatically as a result. I was just looking at a stack of groceries I bought yesterday and realized that the…
Decals of this nature seems like ~30 minutes of fiddling in PS with a couple custom brushes (that you could probably make from scratch pretty quickly), that will net you some brushes you can use forever into the future, and easy high-res source files to tweak as needed. AI is good at what it's seen a lot of. Examples…
