I'm not considering ragequitting, I already did that. I need new software, I can't even look at this piece of crap anymore. Good thing this happened before I had a chance to switch from student to paid license, otherwise Autodesk's quarters would be on fire already.
No I am unfortunately not attending since I am broke as f***. You do know me, I believe Kasper has invited you to our new years party. That also mean that I was a student at 3DC, now I am just stuck here for work..
I bought ZBrush directly from Pixologic, but with a huge student discount price. I believe I had purchased it for $350-400. It was so long ago that unfortunately I cannot recall! However it does come with free upgrades. I would email customer support and ask.
Just a quick heads up. If you're a student, you can get Windows 8.1 professional for $70. With Start8 or Classic Start installed, you never have to look at the Metro UI. I've found 8.1 to be a bit quicker in all areas, and have not had any compatibility problems.

All feedback is welcome. Modelled in Blender - Grass Clumps by Megascans Textured in Substance Painter Rendered in Unreal Engine…
