Can't wait to see how this turns out. I agree with Hellkritty that Head 1 will read more as Janna. She's never really had anything covering her head up. I also really like Bug 1 and Staff 2.
Map them 0-1 on the X/U so you don't get a seam. Then tile vertically as you show in your sketch. If your engine supports it, do a 1:2 aspect ratio (tall rectangle) to help minimize tiling vertically.
Ok, so after poking around and doing some reading and thinking on the problem, I'm starting to think my initial guess was right - that this is an issue of gamma correction. I like 3 and 1 around the same amount, but for different reasons. 1 is sombre, but it's nice. a lot of potentials for matching a similar feel to the original idea here. 3 is fun, though, with cool pin up potential. 2 misses the mark for me, personally. :)
The way he did it was, Step 1: Make low poly Low Poly Step 2: Import to zBrush Step 3: Sculpt details, (while retaining the overall shape) Step 4: Then bake maps using the low poly from step 1.
@kritskiy OMG YES!~ THANK YOU! :D @CreativeSheep , I think if you take the two steps of 1.de-perspective then 2. warp, you would achieve that. Then again I understand a 1 button press for that would be interesting and "more efficient?", idk.
