Re: Surface Pro? whats your verdict? I am thinking of getting one.
I'm trying to decide between a high end surface pro 2 and a low end pro 3. I'm leaning heavily towards the 2 because of the better specs, gpu, and no throttling. But can anyone who has the pro 2 comment on the size? That's the only limiting factor I see, can you really work on a 10.6" screen? -

Yeah I definitely want to run through the game with commentary on. On a side note, anyone ever notice that one of the poison zombie death sounds has a strange laughing at the end of it. Re: 3d max - I cannot see vertexes in object
"Show End Result" will hide vertices if there are no other modifiers on the stack. A lot of the time I have Symmetry/Turbosmooth applied, so I toggle Show End Result with a hotkey I bound, often without realizing it. Sometimes I do this to a new Editable Poly without modifiers, and freak out when I can't unhide them. -

Good question, it really depends where you work and how they have their pipeline set up. Raven has Env artists who create assets and those who work purely in the level editor. The guys in the editor oversee the construction of levels and direct the assets being produced. While the asset Env artists make awesome shit. Hope… -

Bought the book dues to mule posting about it. Arrived three hours ago and I just finished it. Excellent read. I've always been a bullshitter and this was a good kick in the pants. He does go a bit loopy towards the end but brings it back together in the end. If the thread has peaked even a nugget of interest pick a copy… -

Try the single life for a bit, and if that fails don't ask your girl to mary you, next time you end up in a big relationship. Just go with it and hell, if it goes well and doesn't seem like ending, you don't really have to be married, do you? Marriage is a big commitment, while just "living together" is teh pwnz. -

Now that is weird. I'm using chrome and every time I download a .mzp it ends up getting a .mzp.zip at the end. I have always renamed them and removed the .zip to get it working. It doesn't just apply to IC shape, same thing with textools as well. I didn't think it was a big enough problem to discuss though :p -

Looks really nice. The odd thing to me is how the lighting is higher end but some of the geometry (chairs) are rather low poly. If you're going for higher end lighting, then use some higher res geometry. You should look into using Mental Ray to do some light maps. It has really good quality as malcolm is saying.
