Has anyone had success saving layer fx to a smart material you are making? I see that many of the provided smart materials, and all mega scans use Pattern Overlay to put textures on surfaces. Even if all I do is make a layer and add a pattern overlay, and go to save my smart material, this gets discarded. Any thoughts?…
If your position of the object is reached to fast.. shouldn't you move the iframes (or whatever it's called in Maya) for that position to the right so that they are "reached" later in time ? Maybe even using more than 144 frames. The numbers are only the relative position to the curve (0= one side; 0.5= in the middle; 1=…
Yes, you can add meshes/prefabs/lights/terrain/particles/whatever you can select in the editor to a layer. They work similar to layers in Photoshop, where you can lock or hide layers and only work on what layer is visible. Just select what you have in the scene and right click, then go down to "Level". It should have…
Hey guys this is my first time posting on the crydev forums, So I was wondering if anyone knows if it possible to use the blend layer to have bricks show on a concrete mesh, kinda like in the picture . I thought about trying to do it with decals, but I dont know if I would be able to fake the depth better if I used a blend…
layer in mudbox are bound to the subd level you created them... if you crate a layer on level5 the layer will only work on level5... but they shouldnt disappear after saving...
I tried dragging but the layers don't move. I'd like to simply reorder my layers. Heh, never mind. I was having an issue with windows and dragging and dropping files. Apparently it was also affecting photoshop. I restarted my machine and it all works now.
Is there a way to generate occlusion from normal map of a solid layer? Also it would nice to be able to load an image to the occlusion slot of a solid layer.
This is a special 3D (and even more a game art) thing, but Photoshop isn't a 3D art tool, so usually it doesn't have specific things like that. Ndo is an other thing, it is used predominantly by game artists. The bevel (and other layer effects too) happens where the layer has a pixel next to an empty pixel, so at the…
I'm working on a character model at the moment and I'm trying to make 2D eyes - I did this on a previous model, but the method used wasn't the cleanest and in the end it made posing the eyes a bit of a nightmare: What I'd like to achieve is something similar to the Hat Kid model from A Hat In Time - have the eyes slightly…
So thought i share how the render come along. Now here is how it turned out and I will say I already got some feedback and will fix it but thought i see what else I could get. This is feedback i got. "can see you have used a grungy, much more yellow saturated texture for the teeth. I can see some height values taking…
