Just picked up my dream bike today from a local shop here. Been eying this thing for a while now. I gotta say, Money well spent! Please ignore the chicken stripes, its got 35 miles on it. I know there are some PCers who ride. Post some shots of your bikes!
http://athey.deviantart.com/art/Game-Industry-Advice4students-145619882 I understand that its different from one to another, but you know... just interesting Junior 3d modeller/junior character artist including texturing work, what hour salary (is it correct term?) does he have? Include country and local currency please…
This is an older project and my first modular environment. This is a local diner in Savannah, GA called Bobbies, if you are or ever were a SCAD student you'll be familiar with it. I took reference images of Bobbies and used a lot of textures from those images to manipulate and "post-apocalyptify". It was an overall great…
I really enjoy a good podcast, whether its from the talk shows on my local rock station (kisw.com) or lately the game-industry oriented PC Gamer podcast (pcgamer.com). I was wondering who here listens to podcasts, and if so, what podcasts? It doesn't have to be based on games, just whatever subject interests you.
Well it's nice to see we already got some fans among us lol, yikes, maybe this isn't the forums we want to be posting our work in? Maybe www.gameartisans.org is a more friendly and appropriate place. I'm just kiddin' my loyalty hangs with Polycount ;) However, I'd appreciate some professional and calm criticism as we get…
You can find similar topics by searching "visa" or "immigration". The general consensus seems to be that it's very difficult to get the papers in most places unless you have a degree or are at the top of your field/world renowned and companies usually prefer to hire locally instead of going through the effort of sponsoring.
We don't have zombie runs here, but we do have this: http://irlshooter.com/ One of the girls from work did the local Tough Mudder course here last year. It sounds amazingly brutal. I'm sort of half inclined to give it a try myself, but I'd probably die.
Canada doesn't require a degree. As long as company is willing to hire you they can do it. It's a lot of work though. The way most visas work is a company has to prove that it can't find similarly skilled labor locally. So as long you're better then everyone else you should be good. ;)
Can also right click mesh - transform - mirror on X Y Z. That works on the world space coordinates, using the drawboxes is local coordinates. Also right clicking supports transforming entire groups, the drawscale boxes do not. So depends on the situation which one you want to use.
That, and also if you are zoomed in to work on small details, click "Local" so that the camera spins around the area you are working on, rather than using the whole model as the pivot. (I thin I got my terminology wrong here, but I hope you get what I mean.)
