what is that sausage like thing around his neck line of the shirt? sword and backpack look good, shirt and pants are still a bit meh, the shapes and details are tool soft the folds at his midrif are good. keep at it.
im not sure what ref your using for the radio but its looking a little to stylized being very soft with very large knobs. in fact if you hadnt said it was a radio I would have never guessed.
I'd theorize you could just add noise to an existing normal map, so that you have less continuous light reflection. You'd probably have to tweak the noises softness to get it just right, though.
Sweet man. I made some comments in your post on chemicaldust But also now I look at it, where his nostrils meet the face feels a little on the soft side. But its an awesome model as you know
Yeah I was looking at a rusted metal box today, the rust was in the expected places, but its was very clean and flat looking, and the rust was almost soft and cloudy in places, it wouldn't need a normal map, or a VERY faint one.
I would tone down the shadows a bit. Especially the one where the fin joins the body on the upside. The texture on the blades is coming off as soft to me, too. I do like the new colour scheme, though.
The fleshcolored pieces are throwing me off. Looks great though. The only suggestion I have is to maybe harden up some of the creases so it feels a little less soft. Primarily the tubes on the sides, and the banner rod.
Thats great! You didnt render with sub-surface scattering did you? It's just the way it's colored with some soft lighting? How come the wireframe is triangulated? Do people actually use 56k modems still?
Fruity Loops is good.. relatively cheap and easy to get into. I got a free copy of Cubase Lite with my mixer, and I'm liking it as well, still learning. Both are capable of mixing live tracks with soft synth.
