It seems like I'm always posting the same thing...I feel like a robot. First off, some stuff that is really nice; I dig the heat shield over the barrel. The grenade launcher and overall shape of the scope/"digital sights" is cool too. For the simple stuff, I think the rifle overall is a bit thin. I'm not sure what's going…
Q:How do I enable SSS? I can't find any references to it. A:Make sure to turn on IBL first, below two parameters plus two textures are responsible for SSS effect. -Specular Highlights Strength -Rim Specular Strength -Specular Level -Gloss Texture Q:How do I enable soft shadows? A:Sorry, this is a shadowmap's demo that…
You're right... that night lighting IS awesome! Now get the day lighting awesome as well. The darks, like the underside of that shack, are way too dark and the horizon is way too overexposed (it shouldn't be white at all!). Still, awesome work. Looking forward to more!
Thanks guys for interesting comments . it's of topic but last fall after years of polishing Designer fx maps and creating procedural approaches I suddenly found how actually better my work had been when it all was just manual, taste and intuition driven. Zbrush sculpts and coloring , hand painted textures I did in some…
I got some quiestions in a PM about how I made the van, but I feel I should take the oppertunity to explain it here insted. I dont know if this is a good place to post this, if you dont think it ist, please feel free to let me know. Im making and using a series of photoshop actions to instantly do things like: set up…
not bad! There are some things I'd consider though: on the shield, -the level of detail is a little wacky. Might be the painting, might be texel density, but the metalrim's details seem much tighter compared to the wood. That doesn't mean the knicks and scratches need to be the same size between the two, just that the…
3D model of the Holosun Red Dot sight. I used Blender for modeling high and low poly versions of the sight then baked it in Marmoset Toolbag, finally I used Substance 3d Painter to texture the model. This is great, keep going! One thing that might help it "pop" would be to add some off-screen lights coming from the left and right sides. Maybe there's an "open door" on one of the near culled walls, with warm light streaming in. Or maybe another window.
What you need to remember about night scenes with moonlight, is that the light is bluish, which also means that the bouncing light and shadows should have a blue tint to it. Right now all your shadows are black/orange, which doesn't give that nighttime feeling.
Hello, Being curious and inspired by the work of the Quixel team, I decided to see if I can mimic some of their results and try my hand at constructing my own prototype "megascanner." It's a 1 square meter wooden box with an open bottom and a hinged top. Each interior side has a set of white LEDs each wired to a dimmer…
