Drove by an excavator yesterday with an awesome texture job on it. Gonna go back tomorrow and take a ton of pics of it. Seriously, from an artistic standpoint there was a perfect amount of grunge.
This is looking great. He has the just the right amount of complexity to his rock form to give him a very interesting silhouette but still be readable from a distance.
Textures looks good, maybe a bit scarce on the needles, that might be the reason your trees look kind of empty. Try buffing up the amount of branches too.
Could it possibly be an issue with RAM moreso than the graphics card? Does the program your using have an option in the settings to set the amount of RAM it can use?
It seem to have the same amount of gloss all over, try playing around with the value on different areas, for example you might make the shields matte or something.
