An initial something from me, I had an idea for a throne for some kind of huge creature which is also part of a city. I did a rough sketch to try and visualize what it would look like, not too happy with the way it's looking so far though.
I like what you've got so far. A consistent theme and style for the fantasy stuff. Fav for me is that cinematic shot with the child and creature thing. Only critique is I think that rock is wasting a few polys, then again it's for cinematic so it's not that significant. Good work!
Nice one! Nannou you just hit the spot! It was looking a bit weird with vertical creature on rotated pages, however I would probably not doubt its legitimacy. Anyway thing like that really make you think twice about any collaborations and so on :/
I wanted to start learning the ins and outs of a few new programs and maps, so I made this Jellybean guy to test the waters. Turnaround time on him was pretty quick, which makes me happy. His concept hails from the legendary Creature Box.
I like this trend of Slark-wearing-the-full-corpses-of-other-sea-creatures-and-thus-becoming-them... this looks seriously cool! The sculpt looks amazing but I almost want to see some more exotic colors on it as Slark has a really interesting color scheme.
yeah sometimes i get the urge to continue a piece afterwards but mostly i just lay them to the side and continue on some other image. Some studies from the movie: Let the right one in. really good movie imo :) Spitpaint: 30min The void creature
I have to agree with Mop on the texture. As a consumer, I wouldn't buy this DVD based on the renders of that creature. It just isn't the quality of work I'd like to spend hours studying. That said, congratulations on getting to do that dvd. Hopefully it'll help complete beginners a lot.
So ive been participating in the cgboost challenge 21. prompt: snow creature. ofc a dragon.... not really satisfied how it turned out but better done than perfect. im really really glad that i finished it. gotta dump some wip shots in here
It looks a lot like he is wearing a sculpted armor plate on his chest. The hard definition of the lines are messing with me. The chains make some sense if this is the case, but they don't necessary make sense for a bare chested creature. (at least not without other body piercing or something)
Actually the Senor Concept Artist at Epic Games, James Hawkins(i am not sure if he still is), uses 3d in order to make the final concept for production purposes. There is like a whole DVD on it. http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/534/gears-of-War-Creature-Design
