For face studies, you should focus on drawing from life. Gather some photos of people (friends are fun to do) and do portraits. You'll expand your visual library this way. If you wanna get more in-depth of structure drawing some skulls is a good idea.
COUNT_CRUSHMORE It can be hard at first to draw while always looking at the screen and not the pen. For some people it can take a while to get used to. For me it only took a couple of days. A simple wacom drawing tablet will always be better than those <500$ windows tablets with pens.
Oh ok I think it just clicked on thank you! There are just so many keys because I followed the Link I was given near enough drawing for drawing, word for word but forget the software does a lot of the interpolation for you with no need to key in the slow in and outs >.<
I have my Tablet right in front of me, with a little tilt.I can´t think of a reason why anyone would have it where their mouse is. In general it´s healtier to draw with your whole arm instead of only with the wrist(and its easier to draw straight lines)
But you can see that Zadd is on in the upper picture? I tried all the Draw buttons anyway I solved the grabdoc issue, apparently it's best to draw out a Plane3d to start and set the default depth, otherwise other meshes will be out of range or something The mysterious program that is Zbrush
Woot!! I have my cintiq straight up, too. Works more like an easel or drawing board. More of how I'm used to. When I used my big intuos, I'd have it propped up in my lap like a drawing board, too.
Thanks, I'd appreciate muchly! Formal life drawing classes might be the art butt-kick I need. (I've been doing some drawing on and off at this site http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php and while I love it dearly, it's still not the same thing)
Hey, no problem. I'm just asking, because there seems to be no pressure curve to your lines. Is this intentional? It seems like it would feel quite unnatural to draw that way (plus it's one of the big bonuses tablets have over using a mouse or pen tool to draw).
I think turning your mesh into a live object and drawing an ep curve on top will be one way to do it. You will have to subdivide your mesh a few times though as you can draw, in live mode, on the center of a face only. But it's one method.
Heres where I'm at.. its been called to my attention that using actrualy religious symbols draws too much attention and speculation to his character so back to the drawing board with his designs. also working on a demon head automatic crossbow :D
