Yeah mate I understand the concept of context-sensitive since I discovered @perna Smart Create script a few years ago, I was not doubting your claim to only use one key just expressing my astonishment that you could devise a logic that would allow you to just use one key in every possible modeling scenario. My own…
The salary survey is pretty damn accurate for a good portion of the industry, based on US rates. Not sure what rates are like in the UK, but from what it sounds like, they are a little bit lower sadly. As there are many many topics like this already across the PC forums, would recommend reading through some other threads…
Got a little discouraged today. My arm started to hurt from using the mouse. Does this happen to anyone else? I wish I could make this tree in like smart tree (can't because of unity 4), or a maya plugin that makes tree creation more fun. Guess im still getting a hang of the basics. Anyway, here's where i'm at so far. I…
Yeah i saw it (good idea the wirexx comments thing), the only reason i wouldn't manage and all that other stuff which i think i might be able to do but i do no do "socials", discord and the like cause I'd have to trust, I'd just write up doc's/pdf's/jpg's and let people manage themselves. Do not feel like people like being…
Hi, I am learnning 3D modeling. I've been working on a car lately, and I'm basically done with the modeling , and starting to unwrapping UVs. I was originally going to put part of the car frame and the wheels on one UV map, but my teacher recommended that it would be better for me to put the wheels on a separate UV map. It…
so im just assuming you originally wanted to render out a video of the camera just rotating around that table you posted with a that fish eyed lens effect? I would use whats was mention before with the really wide fov along with the distorting material in your post process chain. If you actually wanted to "render" out a…
Looking good, I like the new tracks and the addition of the mine cart is helping fill in some of the detail gaps, nice work. The lighting is starting to fall apart and I think that might be because I steered you in the wrong direction by suggesting using FG and MR. The method I suggested for the crystals was a slightly…
using smooth normals works when everything is perfect but at no other time. in practice, if the model looks good in an untextured, shaded view then you're in a good place to start baking. it's not a guarantee that hardening all your shell edges will look the best but it's a good starting point
@antonyj, that's a good looking high poly mesh. I hear you on getting as much done for this challenge finished ASAP. I figure if I can get this first hatch just right, the second hatch won't be too hard. Right now, I'm about getting like items done as much as possible which probably means Props 3 and 4 will be the last…
Thanks for the comments : ) divi: not all that different from a modular environment perspective really : ) @razorb: is that because you are already so smart, you feel superior when watching my stuff? : ((( Made a proper shader for my mosaics, with some blending etc. Not quite happy with the blending yet, but I have to…
