Clean design, easy to find stuff. I definatly like your rocky landscape best, nice mood and I have always had a soft spot for semi-cartoony Jak&Dexter textures. And could you please tell me how you have tiled the brick and rooftile texture in the handheld enviroment scene? I just can't figure out how you have done it.
Well, looking at pics myself, I found that a lot of Roman buildings did in fact have roofing like that. Creative Assembly put a lot of effort and money into making sure that Rome: Total War was as accurate as possible. If you take a peek at some of the buildings in that game, it might give ya a hint. I agree with MoP…
I would get rid of the "in construction" pages. Just have the 3D page as your front page. You can link other pages in after you've created them ;) Also, maybe post a second image of the brick house... a detail image, so we can see the bumpmaps. Also, consider re-rendering the house with more dramatic lighting. The lighting…
Cholden, Im all choked up. I also got one of those "ugh-ugh" DeWalt radios that you can throw against the brick wall and they won't break, the new Mudvayne CD and an Aqua Teen Hunger Force bad-ass t-shirt. My girlfriend gets me all these things and makes me feel like im 10 again. Thanks every1
I think they are simply blending together multiple tiled textures, this is a fairly common setup with vertex painting. Clean brick wall. Mossy wall. Cracks. etc. Each is a tiled texture. Another setup, this allows 16 textures to be blended by using only one of the three color channels (green) within a single set of vertex…
This is a model of a building from a local Fort. The images are from within Unity3D Free version. Let me know what you think. The texturing isn't complete either, I have to play with the UV's for the brick around the windows to have the mortar line up correctly (especially the inside area with the stretching). Textures:…
Anyone messed around with this? It's a quick and dirty web-based font creation tool. It's limited to 'bricks' and such however so don't expect to make smooth-as-silk detailed vector fonts. It's good for prototyping pixel font stuff fast though (and then use them for your window system). I haven't been able to make a fixed…
I have my first ever game designer job interview on Tuesday and I'm bricking it. I'm notoriously bad at interviews, being very shy and rambling on not making sense. I really don't want to blow this, but at the same time, I have no idea how it's gonna go.. I've only ever been interviewed for shop assistant jobs etc. Any…
I know we all have are ways of finding our iner creativity. What do you do to help yourself visualize something your asked to make? I often find myself running into brick walls where i can't visualize what it is I'm making so have a hard time making it. What do you do when you run into this problem? I know this will help a…
Hey there, can anyone point me in the way of a good tutorial on seamless/tile textures for game environments. I mostly create character textures with a UV layout, but im starting to get into environments and buildings. Im looking for something that will go into detail, an example would be placing graffiti on a repeatable…
