I recently made a step up and started modelling in 3dsMax. Previously I'd been using Blender. Anyway, decided to tackle this gun as my first project, currently working on the high poly. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I wanted to ask if this is possible where u can select some faces using a black and white map like the Vol. Select modifier in 3dsmax. Is there anything like this in Blender?
I just exported my model from 3dsmax to .obj and imported it in unfold. It loads fine without any warnings or errors but I got those orange dots, what do they tell me :S ? Thanks!

Indeed we don't pick up the textures, maybe with FBX being more PBR friendly with the latest updates in Maya and 3dsMax we'll be able to change that in the future.
I've found that .PSK files (exported with the ActorX plugin for 3dsMax) to be much more reliable than FBX animation, and don't throw that annoying "Import Failed" error!
I have worked on engines where you could determine the sort order using a variable on the shader/material in 3dsmax. It required a custom shader that worked with the exporter.
