Thanks man! :D Cheers :D Here is an update on the robotic arm, In all the ref images a lot of surfaces are covered in fabric tarps but, i really like the hard surface metal look of the main concepts so I am going to stick to that. Will likely have it moving a module or something in the final scene
Finished the UV Mapping today and did the first bakes (AO & Normal without surface details). I exploded the model for the first bake to make it easier to find errors. This is the InGame Model with AO and normal so far: Tomorrow I will fix the two error in the middel part and begin with the surface and normal details
I don't mind if you ask. Well, I just thought it would be easier rather than cutting into the surface and stuff. As I am pretty new to modeling I chose this easier solution. But you have a point regarding normal maps. I will try really modeling it into the surface. Thanks mate ;)
@lasoob this is great sculpt, care to give more info on your hard surface sculpting? I've been trying to do some hard surface on a model I'm sculpting but have no idea of how to really approach it. great work so far though! I cant wait to see where you take this!
Looks pretty good but the presentation is letting it down. From what I can see you need a better, lighter render. You need some more faces on the weapon. You need more material definition as all the surfaces read the same, the clothes need more variation and wear across the surface.
that fur paintover looks good. in addition to that, the biggest thing that stood out to me is lack of spec or proper surface identity. right now the whole thing looks like sort of matte clay like surface. also, as daphz mentioned the sculpt needs to be bit more crisp and defined to hold up with the armor.
So currently at University I am working on a 3D project regarding the usability of an Xbox Kinect and whether or not it has potential in aiding with the workflow of creating assets. What triggered this idea is that 3D scanning has become and is becoming more and more predominant in game studios, however the solutions are…
Hey guys! Right now I'm learning 3ds max from the ground up and to learn stuff better I always kinda pretend I was creating tutorials :D That forces me to think about things in a complete manner and to put those into context. Anyway, I was thinking about what different modeling techniques exist and that I was always kinda…
