Hey everyone. I've always wanted to make environments based on the seven deadly sins, and I thought this contest would be perfect for greed. Softwares: Maya, ZBrush, Photoshop, Unreal Engine 4, and Substance Some references that I'm using: I made a blockout inside Maya then did a quick paintover inside Photoshop to get a…
Had the idea of doing a Throne room based off of a mashup of Masters of the universe and thundercats. I know shao khans throne room is in my reference, I think it looked cool enough to draw some elelments from it. simple blockout Software being used MODO Max Zbrush Photoshop UE4 Substance? (once I figure out how to use it)
WIP #1 -Blockout refinement, Smoke Particles, VFX and Basic lighting Made some additions and changes to the main structure and added some basic lighting, fog and some smoke particles. Also made a small hovering animation for the main model. Need to figure out to modify the Anti Aliasing and how to reduce/remove the white…
I had made a bunch of these before I even started with the sausage, but I wanted to bring the sausage to the final look I'd like to go with and then make the other props according to it. So far I'm okay witht he base blockouts but figuring out how much detail to give them while keeping it stylized is what will be…
So I decided to build the lighting at preview quality. The scene is just lit with one directional light right now. Pretty happy with the preview quality bake. I also replaced the blockout textures with more refined version on stairs Finally the weekend is here so I can work more on this scene! As usual, any crtis welcome…
Heyho, bit of nonsense ;) You can read about the more serious facts of goods, warehouses and airships in my latest dev log update: http://www.rollinsforge.com/pre-alpha-0-2-a-closer-look-at-engineering-2-0-goods/ If not everything would take so long I could eventually start finalizing one of the structure blockouts >_<
Thank you, Tom. Sounds like I'm going to maybe use some of my global game jam weekend watching Indiana Jones, haha. :) UPDATE: First of all, I made some planning sketches to make a few variants for the possible throne. I also made a scene blockout of what I have in mind at the moment.
Love the story! The first thing I thought when I saw your design: A Yeti in World of Warcraft. Of course I see you had a great process so it's only interesting/cool to me that you would end up with something alike. Must mean it's a good design ;) Blockout looks very solid already, keep it up!
@jose.fuentes I'm aiming for as realistic as I can get, basically. But this is still in blockout stages, trying to make sure proportions and stuff are right before I go into more detail. @carvuliero Thanks for the suggestions and the paintover! I worked on it a little bit but I still have stuff to adjust, like the arms and…
While this probably won't help for this job, if you keep your blockout and hand painted light information on separate layers in the future, you won't have this problem. Although if you're just giving ndo solid blocks of colour, it's only going to be beveling the edges anyway? Have you tried running ndo on what you have now?
