Very informative, thanks for sharing. I'm kind of in the same boat, as my core skillset is mechanical hard surface and recently decided too dip a toe or three into enviro water's. Dang talk about steep curve but lol this old dog will hopefully pick up a few tricks along the way as well, so cheers I'm duly subscribed…
Yup ... don't tell that to the fanboys tho, they'll get pretty mad! Because you know, "it's the most realistic game ever made" hehe Also - I don't see how strapping an actor to a chair and asking him or her to read a line without a single head movement could ever result in realistic and natural acting. I guess I'm too old…
really the grime works fine I think. I've got an old monitor I keep in the garage like this and its got grunge similiar from being manhandled over the years. I think the only prob is its just oh soo shiny right now and I'm too lazy to skip back a a page and see if you mentioned about ur spec map. blah.
I'd have to look at a review from someone who knows what they are talking about first. Comments from people with the old Cintiq 21" who's looked at the specs seem to think most issues from the old model will still be there (too warm vs. not bright enough and too laggy). That's just from looking at the specs, though, so…
thanks for the comments - personally, i think i can do better, and will strive to with this piece. MoP, i was wondering what made you surprised to see i wasn't using tiling textures more. did it seem the appraoch i used wasn't necessary or a very smart? i couldn't blame you if you did.. i wouldn't consider myself a leader…
I think if you blend the old wall texture with the new one, it would look sweet. I also agree about keeping the lower red stripe and ditching the well and the wagon wheel in the scene, they don't seem to fit. Wall texture seems a little too noisy still, but maybe that's just me. There's a lot of good crits up there. It's…
I find styling in all the tools I've tried deeply frustrating, only way for me to be happy is to model with curves and turn these into particle hair guides. So, styling like its the early 2000's all over again (in fact I found an old article about the 1999 Star Wars movie where they mentioned those exact same methods being…
Hello Polycount! Long time lurker, like so many others. I'm finally creating an account to get some feedback and such. I'm not sure what I am, regarding modelling. I started a while back in Blender and sort of decided I was too old to start looking into 3D modelling as a career. I know, "you're never too old to do…
cool project. probably too late, but i feel her posture and general shape doesn't scream "old lady" to me. Kind of like how in the elder scrolls game all the characters share the same rig, this body seems like it could fit onto a younger women too. Not saying its bad at all, just that for all the attention to detail shown…
I bought Designer several years ago. Now it's even not installed on my pc although I do use hi-res texture templates i did there all the time. Concrete and rusted/painted metal mostly. Nodes are too tedious to do and not that streamlined comparing with Fusion for example. To make your own unique noises you would need to go…
