after i open the 3DO, the DDO menu from the toolbar is still empty even if i have a mesh loaded. + When i open the mesh group menu nothing appears. What's going on?? (i tried to put a smart material which was a success but i cannot work without the extra menu it's supposed to have) here's a pic
I had two element's in this object, one is hidden. The one that is hidden I had booleaned before. the element shown below was not touched by the boolean. yet when i apply turbosmooth it seems to think that there are open edges or something somewhere. I have selected all the faces on the object and edges ect and moved them…

good to know, i just have a habit of opening pics in a new window :P always hate it when i click to open in same window, and i have to wait a few seconds to go back and reload the original page i was on before i clicked the pic
Yup, for sure you can set something up in a 3d app no problem. Just like simple little apps like this that you can have open apart from your max and photoshop. Take absolutely no time to setup...just open your texture...done.
@Chase yea I jus waited and I got a reply. So they said that they don't have an opening for an internship but may have an opening in the next few weeks. If I want to qualify I have to use a program called Nuke and know how to do rotoscoping and paintouts.
Nice , the opening up is sweet, but the rotors do look sort of comically small :p Obviously on a real bettle the shell opens up futher but that might knock the pilot off, You could have the abdomen beneath the shell drop down to give you more space
Swampbug: usually you can just Keep a palette window open, (small canvas to use like a normal artist palette) or put splotches or small gradients in the spaces you aren't using. or here http://www.worqx.com/color/images/shade-tint-wheel.jpg keep that open. :)
Thanks, Hippos can open their mouths wide I guess. I modeled it of a reference of a hippos mouth open in the hope that it would line up nicer when the mouth was closed, which is does Any problems with it so far? I don't want to screw the texturing up.
Hahaha yeah man I can't tell you how mad I got when that first happened to me. I was typing while waiting for max to open and well... it opened. Strange that this VNC program changed something in how the renderer works... a bit scary to me.
