Happened upon this thread today: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40373 I'll admit I don't understand all of it, and can't merely copy their method because they aren't using max as far as I can tell, but it should be helpful.
Joshschmitt, Whew!!! ( Sweat, sweat,) I'm glad I didn't merge my layers, never thought about that. Thank you very much:) Also I think I will have actual vines to accompany the texture that way it will break the silhouette.
Wow your bake looks amazing!! First time I saw it I thought it was the high poly. Would you be willing to go over your workflow to let us mere mortals know how you achieved such a perfect bake?
Its useful for all texture types, especially if you want more than a mere diffuse map. Its just using the values present and working from there, realistic or not they should have information B2M can work with. Saves a lot of time.
As long as you are not acting on confidential information, or unreleased information it is fine. If you hear from your boss a we are going to be merging with this studio one the paper work is finalized, you cannot buy or sell stock until that info is released publicly.
A. In max, FFD is probably what you want B. If the text is popping out, its easy to get a seamless look with floating geo. C. Worst case, float it, and then merge it all together when you've got the look you want.
Bombastic? That's projecting a bit on my intentions, I feel. I merely provided a reference of a tool that works in a similar away regarding real time boolean manipulations. Also, we still don't know if will not produce subd ready outputs, as of now.
Merged all in one file. Got back to 3ds max 2009. I just can't stand 2013 after using 2009. I do have one question though. Is there possibility to turn on viewport shadows in 2009 with 3ps shader ?
It's because of legal liability stuff. People could take a copyrighted image and just paste it on the car. When you create it via the livery tool in the game, it's merely your "interpretation" of said copyrighted content. Basically, it's just to cover their own asses.
Yeah, I'll take care of the text in PS for sure. But with so many SD and SP tutorials out there, I haven't had luck finding one that details adding rust, specifically. Jerc, could you point me in the right direction?
