Hey, all, I'm wondering if I could get some feedback on what I have so far of my 3D environment/prop art portfolio. Obviously there's always more one can do, but I'd like a general idea (from people who aren't my friends and thus biased in favor of me) of whether it's worth it for me to be applying to jobs at my current…
Having looked at your PSD, the problem is due to your hand painting where the colours are far more blurred/faded at the edges than typical anti-aliasing between colours when baked from a modelling package would be, no doubt due to the level of 'softness' applied with your drawing tools. Don't forget the colour influence is…
Thanks for the comments! :) Thanks :) I need to play around with the handle some more...I will try and get some done on it tonight if I can and tweak the spec on the wood a little too. Cheers, man! :) Is it the specular strength that you think is wrong or the gloss? Thanks for the crit! :) Yea the AO is really light on the…
If you're doing something as complex as a jet you probably want to make a proper high poly and bake that thing. As for the high poly, just think about how the pieces are put together in real life. Is it built up by a lot of different plates and pieces? Then model it that way! Have 400 meshes in your high poly if that's how…
I should add that the job role in dollars is around $70K We are 22 minutes by train to London - http://www.visitlondon.com/ But if you don't want to live in London we are far enough away that its all a bit ye olde weldy and you could live in Hatfield and cycle into work every day. Or a 10 minute drive away is St Albans or…
Avoid these "SLR Sized" point and shoot cameras like the plague. They are expensive, just as big and heavy as a dSLR, but everything about them is totally inferior, the features you get out of a $400 fake-slr are little better than a $150 compact point and shoot camera. You get a super tiny sensor, which is terrible for…
I like it =) Crits: - The corners on the door arch are too sharp, beveling them won't really up the poly count that much but it will help the sharpness. You did it on some other pieces but not on a hight traffic wear/tear area? - Cracking one of the doors open just a hair, not so much that you see anything past it but…
When I was 12 I was trying to cross a curved 2-lane street with my bicycle.... there was a car coming from the left which stopped for me to let me pass, she waved me over to cross and when I did, I didn't pay attention to traffic coming from the right side and didn't notice there was a car coming right at me....the girl in…
I think if you're considering LCD monitors, you should look into what sort of panels they come with. TN panels which come with most cheap lcds offer very poor viewing angles, to some people this isnt a problem, but others really cant stand it(if you shift in your chair an inch or so the color will change, and there tends…
