MODO has a history of symmetry just stopping working and you don't realize it until you've done a bunch of work that's not being mired anymore. Then you have to stop and rip off half the mesh and mirror it fresh. The mirrored instance thing is the most reliable way to do it.
I stopped at 1,800 alphas. Been working on adding paint options now. Also, does anyone know how to get substance designer to stop showing tiles of the image in the 3D viewport when using height maps? I've been painting them out by hand
The current generation of consoles are past their life expectancy. They're like the mars rover(s). Originally create for a short 3 month mission and go 80 meters between the both of them. But 7 years and 48 kilometers later one is still scratching around on mars while they think up new missions for it. The kinect and…
Hi! The How The F*#% Do I Model This? is a great collection of different situations and place one can to turn to when stuck. Also share the reference, so people know what the goal is. The wiki might contain some useful for information and links relating to this and other topics. Frank Polygons sketchbook contains some…
No, I'm not doing the test I've already sent them rejection letters. I'm frustrated that this is still a thing. But me not doing it won't stop this from happening, there will be others who are willing/desperate to do the free work. Just because it is a "common practice" does not make it right. It'd be ideal, especially to…
"While consuming energy drinks alone will not damage your liver immediately, prolonged consumption of certain ingredients in popular energy drinks may have ill long-term effects on your liver. Answer for hand painting is very much definitely : 3D-Coat. A simple reason : Substance Painter records EVERY stroke you make so that the workflow is never destructive. That's great. But the cons is that your file after a bake or two is quickly going to be 2GB even with a 4000 low poly mesh + the .assbin files for the…
the pylon: this guy was made up for the protection game type. something that the ghostbusters protect while it sets up. so fisrt there was a quick slew of rough ideas... then we started playing around with the idea of a beer keg... a little further along: then we jumped back to an earlier idea... (the first one of course…
first night playing with it and so far its really nice, being able to add a mirror shader over an eyeball to compliment the spec is nice. Bit of a pain that its not supporting gloss in the spec alpha yet, hopefully that will be back in there. Skin shader is awesome, it will need some playing with to get the most out of it…
@ Jessica Dinh - thank you. I had a lot of fun making him @ pior - thank you for dropping by my thread. I think it would be funny to see this guy running around in gears. I see your points with the mechanical design. It's something i struggled with through most of the model. I was definitely inspired by gears of war for…
