Suggestion on retopologising subtools
Hi all So I'm currently working on a female character and I'm just looking for advise on the best way to retopologise. The way it's setup is I have a nude female as one subtool, Followed by the clothing etc over the top of her. The figure in the reference shots looks to have a more fashion figure proportion. This figure here is more stocky. I don't know the character but I don't find it as appealing as the reference. Games like PUBG probably just have the clothes over the naked body with nothing being turned off. It's not a pretty way to do it but you can get a lot of customization that way. I prefer something like Fortnite where the whole character swaps out. You can get far better silhouette breaking outfits and interesting… -

Looks good! If you use an off-white color for the logo/decals and push the roughness and metallic on the painted metal and nude metal farther apart, that might helt to make the outline pop out more. I was saying that I believe your choice not to do a body, and skip right to attempting to do the armor, is the reason why he seems to lack any convincing proportions.
