Junction Point, they just wrapped up Epic Mickey2. I can't remember if they are owned outright by Disney or if they just are under contract. But either way he is working for "The Family" and will probably stick around so long as they keep making good games. I just hope they get to make the games they want and don't get…
Can anyone jump into this? I've always like low-poly stuff, but could never figure out UV wrapping etc. This finally spurred me on to finish something, and although I had little idea what I was doing (and apparently my model only has 100 triangles) I had a lot of fun. I made a coelecanth.
looks great so far! i'm looking forward to some more excellent tileable texture tips. i'm still wrapping my head around it all but can't wait to see what you do with this. I personally love all of the new concept art for pandaria that they came out with. its a nice blend of wow and asian culture.
lookin good. I think it looks a bit strange that they're are mostly all one metal material. Maybe if you added another large element like skylight in the room up top, or a big non yellow vent with a bunch of non yellow pipes coming out the back and wrapping around to the front. Kinda like a big wound.
Keep the 'default shape' cylindrical, just like a regular totem and greentooth. Use only the top and bottom for the main connections. Maybe make side thingies (like horns or wings) optional with relatively small holes, like 5 mm or so? I figure a tapered cylindrical base (with the word 'polycount' wrapped around) should be…
Finished the low res version together with the UV layout. The final polycount is just below 1.400 (1.399 to be exact :) ) I'm going to start texturing the high poly with a Ptex setup in Mudbox and afterwards bake everything down on the low poly. I hope to wrap things up by the end of Friday. Here are some screens, comments…
That is fantastic advice! A more focused workflow is exactly what I need to push my projects to the next level. While working I often find myself wrapped up in the future steps I will need to take to complete an asset. This is detrimental to the creative process at a fundamental level. I am going to implement this workflow…
Great job, I love how this turned out. I'd like to see some sort of coil filament wrapping around the rod in your globe. would add that final bit of silhouette that sells that it is either a light bulb / something electricity related. other than that, everything else turned out bad ass. Very strong silhouette overall!
My job took priority this week so only just managed to get back onto this stuff. I missed it! I'm hoping to get this wrapped up for ComicCon Challenge which starts at the end of this week, will be a good exercise to start applying some of this new found knowledge to a real project. So here's some hand studies along with…
We need to celebrate! Does anyone know any good prostitutes?! I hear polycount is place to ask:D On serious note though, Askhat, I absolutely love you as an artist and wish you all the best. I also hope for great opportunities for you after you wrap up your B.A. :) Happy B-Day!
