3DSMax - convert to selection border
Anyone know of a script (or other method) to convert a uv face selection into its border edges, like can be done in edit/editable poly via shift-clicking on the edge icon? -

Adding Edit Normals and resetting all the normals will likely fix this, as will adding Edit Poly to your stack and collapsing. -

Also, as you said it works well with meshsmooth, it might probably be as a editable mesh triangulated model, not as an editable poly. -

I was simply hand editing the normals of the problematic areas. I applied the edit normals modifier, and tweaked from there. -

Don't add an edit mesh modifier to the top of the stack. Instead hide the elements/faces/verts in the editable poly beneath the skin modifier. -

Bump. Any ideas why it is that the mesh IS in edit mode, but can't be edited? All I did to the mesh was "reconstruct subdivision" a few times. -
