You're very welcome. And I agree: too many people see themselves and others as mere mosaique of skillsets in this industry. Of course skillsets are invaluable but if you don't train your heart as an artist... you'll remain a simple, grey cog.
It shouldn't be a naming issue, because it creates the textures as I paint them and names them according to the layers; unless I merge them, which I guess could cause an issue, but I wouldn't expect that feature to be so problematic.
I love their stuff and I find it worth the money. The tutorials are professional and they cover a lot of different apps... EDIT : Oh, and they just merged with another tutorial place that does nothing but programming languages so there's that. I forget the name now ...
Talking of 3D coat you could make some rock shapes and voxel merge them into the shape you want then Quad the mesh. edit: cant find a decent video of this being done. they're all long winded and crap.
So i merged them all together , but then i realised i can't bake gi from textures now. sigh.. Thanks cw and divi for the help. will keep you posted if i ever manage get a decent result.
As far as I know, OBJ merely stores references to textures that it copies (compresses) in another folder. Collada and FBX are both supposed to be able to embed textures in their files somehow, though in my experience I've found them to be a bit fickle.
Ahh yes, mirror modifier did help a lot. Auto Smooth from the model data was also giving those normals that weird look. A few extrusions and merges and now it looks way better: Not perfect but good enough.
Been a part of the FB Character Design Challenge group and a specific character design caught my eyes a couple months back and I decided to model the character. I welcome any and all critiques! Current Progress: Concept: Gladiator by Meri (Melanie Holscher)
Indeed, "good" or "bad" in my opinion are merely subjective qualities relative to the viewer's mind / eye but baseline knowledge underpinned via foundational principles I'd linked above will enable "breaking" aesthetic boundaries in pursuit of your own style, effectively.
Hi! The screenshots tells the best whats my problem. I want to merge the corners. If I I will rotate panels in the corner by the 45 degrees they will narrow. I was looking for some solutions in architect visualization tutorials but couldn't find any (solutions, not films :P).
