If you are looking to do this with just a diffuse, my advice is to work on lighting, and less with the noise and grime, then use noise and dirt as a blending layer above your lighting info. Few things I think will add a lot: The start could start mid stride of a run into the jump, as if this is a shot in a longer sequence and starts with the cut on action.
