Hello! I'm joining a bit late on this one, and only had this weekend to work on it since I'm pretty busy with work. I spent most of saturday modeling and uv-ing, and most of today was high poly and texturing. I used some techniques I learned from my last job, adding 'floater' geometry over the mesh, to avoid having to do…
Their site redesign when moving from the old black-red naughties-style forums with the gallery on top to some barren shades-of-gray tablet-optimized thing (or whatever that was meant to be) with huge header images and microscopic text in the second half of the 2010's was awful to use for the longest time. Wouldn't be…
Well, Lewis won his 7 titles imo via combination of pure killer racing talent alongside his team's engineers but 2026 will bring in new regs, cars and teams basically total reset for the whole grid so again I think will be up for grabs. Also since Melbourne regained first GP spot to kick off the F1 calendar here at Albert…
This inktober I tried out painting with ink- I normally paint with gouache, watercolour, etc. but hadn't tried with ink before and I've had a lot of fun! Here's a few
This "acne" is just a ini parameters that you change for increasing the quality of the dynamic shadows, but it will probably cost more to change this value. I can't remember the setting unfortunately, but it's in the ini's files.
I am making a landscape autoMaterial. I have finished most of it, but I ran into a problem. I want the transition to not be a gradient, but use the heightmap to blend between the rocks and sand. I actually finished this a few months ago, but it's taken me a while to get all this together for presentation. This is actually a model I'm going to demo in an upcoming video character art tutorial I'm trying to make for CGCircuit. I have to thank them for their extreme patience with me... I've been chipping away at this…

In addition to all the great info above… for a character workflow it is very important to create good topology for the game model, because it needs to bend nicely in animations, light nicely, and get good UV seams. We have some resources to help with this: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Topology#Principles_of_Topology
It's my first go at doing inktober, I'm using a bottle of india ink with a sharpened matchstick in the end of a piece of bamboo as my pen. Looking forward to seeing what everyone inks!
