you just RTT a height map (make sure to normalize the search distances before rendering, I think xnormal has some wierd feature for this), plug it in(IDK about Maroset), and show some pics! Parallax will always stretch, the only way around that is to model it in which would not be a good idea for something like this unless…
Hey the weapon is looking really nice! I have a non related question however. What makes you use Maya?, because right now idk wether to stick with Maya or learn Max, since most hardsurface artist use Max. You are one of the few i found that make sick stuff using Maya, gun wise... Thanks :D
I like the overall look, but right now the seams are so tight that they might as well not even be in the normal map. Thats part of the problem with the rivets as well, a little softer on the inset, and it'll help sell it. Also, lighten up the black in the seams on the dif a good bit, that doesn't help with the total…
Hey, thanks guys! really appreciated. But I'm not going to finish this challenge, way too miserable working on this, idk why i chose to work on it. deleted the files this morning, that's how bad i hated it lol. Had so much fun working on Comicon from start to finish, really enjoyed that.... But anyway if an Admin can delete…
There is a website buried in most city`s website network that tells you the rules for the construction of roads, sidewalks, homes and such. This information used to be free. Last time I looked this up was for San Diego back in 2002... Look here at Australia. This is the way most of it looks, sometimes it is just a wall of…
Current Progress: I've set up another discussion for my animation side, so far I've rigged, skinned and created some animations for the pixie. I plan to work on improving the high poly after I have finished with the basic idle, walk, run, etc animations.…
As for perspective she's not supposed to be putting her hand forward if that's what you mean? More like this http://www.posemaniacs.com/archives/1550 but I lost the reference and just kind of went for something else. (dancing? idk lol) So how do I make something that looks like i'm solving a problem without technically…
@OccultMonk I encountered the same problem with entry! the I solved it was i tried to do balance the lighting not the sky lighting parent but the children so much so that it shows the real color and detail of the mesh. Im sorry I dont have any technical solutions but yeah :) also try using the unreal 4 materials it might…
last bit for the night since I was struggling with transforming a 2d image into a 3d model test I had for the details. I might actually make that detail in photoshop/quixel instead, but I did want to try it out to learn. idk what to do for the castle, but I'm gonna play a little bit more and make little mini wooden knights
or masturbate more often. then after you have a nice blister get back to work, and take a 5 min break every hour or two and look at work by other artists. always makes me want to work harder when i see some of the amazing work others do. but this could also discourage some so idk if it will work for you.
