I have 2 external hard drives. I'd like to be able to save to the 1st, and have the file automatically save to the 2nd. When I delete a file off of one, I'd like it to delete off the other HD too. What's the best way to do this? And is there a risk of both backups being messed up, when compared to manually backing up files…
I'll start off this sketchbook thread with a WIP of a concept sculpt I am using to get back into the swing of things. i had stopped doing 3D for a while and just concentrated on 2D. I now see myself going towards a 3D concept viz field so I'm practicing 3d Concepting. This character is based off an old sketch I did, I will…
I have a rig I setup using UE4's art tools but I am getting major slowdown in viewport caused by the constraints node. Tested this using modify > evaluate nodes and turned off each node until I found the culprit. When constraints are turned off everything is fast again but obviously nothing follows anything when it's…
I look at the tires in gta 4, and similar games, and I cannot figure out for the life of me how they pulled them off. They look way better than anything I can pull off. Does anyone know of a good tutorial on how to achieve this? I know how to model a high poly tire, it's creating the normal map that I seem to lose detail.…
How's it going guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm currently a laid off character artist from Seattle looking for work. Graduated from Art Institute of Seattle. I have a few years experience in film and game. Sadly I was laid off at my previous job due to company financial stability :( Back to being a starving…
So on my week off from school I decided to get off my laurels and do a model for my portfolio. The model was done following a tutorial by Ben Tate. Him and his brother Chris put out some of the most concise, well done, and easy tutorials I've seen to date on 3ds Max modeling. I will be unwrapping and texturing this as time…
So I've rendered off a .avi movie file off of 3Ds Max at 800x600. When it was rendering it looked pretty clear and speckle-free in the preview window you get. But when i came to view the finished .AVI (using VLC, not too sure if that was a factor) the image was pretty grainy and all the colours had gone a bit unsaturated?…
The art style is way off, are you hoping to match it? What are your goals with this project? To make something based off their art, or to make something that could be integrated into the game seamlessly? The second one is what generally get's you a job at your destination studio.
@Rogelio After some tweaking, replacing one noise with another, overall it's complete. I backed off on the crumbly rock, finished off the roughness pass and found out the color was too white on the base and toned it down and it appears more natural than before.
^ Thanks, yup this was based off the R-Type ships. I based mine off the R9A4 - Wave Master Huge fan of that game and wish they would make more. Also to see more images of the ship you can see them on my website.
