From what I've gathered ...Gone Home you play in a girls house and you find out things about yourself / that girl? Stanley Parable looks pretty interesting I gotta say , I already own Metro 2033 but I haven't really had time to play it yet , but I'll put it on my list. I've seen a stream of Dishonored and thanks for…
I always just watch Layna Lazar when she streams on Twitch. There used to be the Character Art Podcast on youtube with both Layna and Jon Troy Nickel but it's been about 11 months since the last one. There was also the Environment Art Podcast that may be on hiatus maybe not I don't know.…
Here I am having very little time to work on this as a few of you have mentioned. Working a regular job and trying to pay the bills...thats the real killer. But enough of me bitching, It was a week ago I started this thread, well now I'm actually starting the project. Nailing a basemesh now and then moving on. too lazy to…
Self motivation is key, definitely - a lot of the time its difficult to relax without a stream of constant work coming in. If you're good though you'll find work no problem! You should check some game engine related forums for work, UDK and Unity actually have commercial specific sections on their forums to advertise your…
I have 24 gigs and I semi regularly use all of it (or close to). It was pretty cheap and its nice to be able to do very detailed sub-d work without worrying about streaming video in a browser or listening to music. I had 12 before and that was very good but the prices on ddr3 dropped so much a few months ago that I grabbed…
The wall sconces really don't feel right - the base is too broad for the underlying wood beam, and the glass has no visible means of support. The neck is also a bit too simple; I'd expect thicker rings at the base and end. I'd expect the light from one set of windows to be much brighter than from the other; as it stands,…
Thanks for the advice ISmoke. Concept of using brushes is indeed totally new to me. And many times I had no idea whatsoever to use to get what I want. I'm sure many times I'm using the wrong tools. I watch many ppl streaming their zbrush work, and I copy their brushes. I still have trouble getting hard edges (not that I…
Thanks guys. Glad you guys like it so far. @Chrunch; Yea, haha, that would have been great! @Lonewolf; Yea, after chatting with you during that live stream, I decided to go back and add small details. Now that I look at it, I still have much to go. Hopefully I find a good tutorial for some awesome renders. :p @Alberto…
You can set landscape in unreal to stream in and out in chunks. If you use displacement you can also set it to tesselate based on distance. This will stop it from using up your polygon count. If you're concerned about polygon count using static meshes would be more difficult.…
That's a little extreme(ly ridiculous) but people have been abusing youtube since day 1 with posting copyrighted content... now homemade music videos and musical montages are fine by me, I rather enjoy a lot of them, but when people start posting tv shows or anime or movies and then bitching when they get removed... you…
