Reminds me when I toured an art college in NYC and saw a dorm room. I swear there was a wall of dolls bleeding from their eyelids. I don't have anything seriously against those people. I just think it was a little sketchy. DemonPrincess isn't as bad at all. -

I thought I would post a character as well. Finished this this last fall, it was an art test for Gameloft up in NYC (did get me the job, combined with an environment art test as well). They limited me to 500 triangles and a 128x128 texture, was their company's spec for iPhone development of characters. :) -

Just met with an Autodesk dev at the NYC Games Forum who presented Maya LT and confirmed that full MEL support is included in the latest closed beta build and launching to users soon. I'll follow up once theres a launch date. That may just put it on my Christmas list. -

I've become overly critical of films that feature "Composite New York City". Either make up your own city, or use NYC as its laid out. Don't mix and match parts together to suit your whim, or add large swathes of space that don't really exsist. -
Re: Finding the right studio
If you relocate there's a big chance you'll live somewhere more affordable than NYC - so don't get dismayed at lower salary if the lower cost of living balances things out. I have to echo everyone else, just apply at studios that make games you'd like to work on. -

Thanks, Mezz. I'll definitely check that place out. I am hoping for more of an East Coast Canada locale, so I can slip off to NYC, Boston, Pittsburgh over the weekends or during school vacation. But overall, it'll be what the school can offer over the location of the school. -

Re: Ever been mugged?
Looking at the murder rate in NYC (or any other big city in the US) I think I have to disagree with you. I don't think a lof thinking goes on when somebody is killed. And in most cases, the person pulling the trigger will have already "finished up" with their life as a regular civilian way before that.
